About India

Official name of India is Republic of India , it is located in South Asia and is seventh largest country of world by its geographical area, and it is second most populous country and is most populous democracy in world. It is bounded by Indian Ocean on south, Arabian Sea on west and Bay of Bengal on its east. It has a coastline of near 7,517 km and is bordered with Pakistan to its west, Republic of China, Bhutan , Nepal to north and Myanmar and Bangladesh to east. It is in vicinity of Maldives , Sri Lanka and Indonesia in Indian Ocean . It is home to Indus valley Civilization as well as region of the historic trade routes, subcontinent of India was identified with cultural and commercial wealth for much of its history. There are four major religions of world in country such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Jainism are originated there, while, Christianity, Judaism,

 

Islam and Zoroastrianism arrived in fist millennium CE, it shaped diverse culture of region. It is republic now and consisting 28 states and 7 union territories having parliamentary democracy system. India has 12 th largest economy of world at the market exchange rates and fourth largest purchasing power in world.

 

Its economic reforms since year 1991 have transformed it in on of faster growing economies, nation still suffer from a high level poverty, malnutrition and illiteracy.

Head of state is President, elected indirectly by the electoral collage for 5 years term. Prime minister is head of government who exercises almost all executive powers, he/she is appointed by President of country.
